Messy Side Braid

Lots of celebrities have been wearing their hair in a messy loose side braid. I loved it and wanted to share with you one way to achieve this look. Sorry about all the picture but I am a visual person and tend to think others are too.
I like to do a quick curl to the hair just to give it a good shape and for some extra volume.
Take where you normally part your hair and just continue down the back of the head to the nape.
Braid the 'fat' side in a loose (but not too loose) Pocahontas braid.
Then start taking pieces or sections of the remaining hair and add it to the braid.
Twist and wrap it through the braid.
Continue until all the hair is in the braid.
I braided the front of her hair but you can just add it to the braid if you want.
What do you think? Does she look like Blake Lively or Taylor Swift?

Hidden Braids

This one is for all my french braiders out there. I saw this idea on a morning show called the Daily Dish, tried it on Elsie and loved it. So now I am sharing. You may need help with this one, it is sometimes difficult to french braid the back of your own head. At least I am not that talented. :)
First do about 5-6 little "hidden" braids right under your occipital bone or in line with your ears. Tie off with clear elastics.
If you part your hair on the side, you will notice you will have more hair on one side (I call the fat side) and less hair on the other (the skinny side). Start with your skinny side and start french braiding around. If you part your hair down the middle, it doesn't matter what side you start or end with.
You will start grabbing the little braids as you go.
You want them to peek-a-boo through the french braid. You may need to surface them after you are done braiding.
I braided the front and added it to the big braid in this picture. But last night I taught a YW class where I ended up turning it into a Bohemian style braid and it looked awesome. (that will be my next post)
Seriously, LOVE IT!

~Beach Waves~

Beach waves are a fun and easy way to add texture in your hair. I like that it gives me an option besides just straight or curly. It is suppose to look like you just got home from the beach...so a little messy is great! I think it looks so cute...it is my new favorite! It is easy to do and you just use your flat iron. First section the head in about 3 large sections. Starting with the bottom section you clamp the flat iron and turn down in a circular motion. Release the hair from iron. Grab the hair below that circle and add another circle in the opposite direction going up. Continue going down the length of the hair in this pattern. I know it sounds complicated and I figured it would so I made a video for you to see how easy it really is.

I love it on long and short hair.

When I style my hair like this it ends up lasting a couple of days.
Ug this was the best video out of 3. My angle on this video isn't perfect but I hope you get the

Braided Headband

I saw this out in blog world a few months ago and I've been telling everyone that sits down to try it. I saw it on a girl with long hair and for a while thought that my hair was too short. After playing with it a while I found a way to make it work on my own length of hair. First I forgot to take a pic of the first step.
1. Section off the hairline about an inch in.
2. Take a section of hair just above the ear and braid it. (for shorter hair just go a couple of inches above the ear, about where I have it shown below)

3. Tie off the braid with a clear elastic.
4. Bring the braid to your other ear and secure with a bobby pin.

Now the inch about your hairline hides where you started and the bobby pin.

Simple and easy!

It looks really cute with curly hair. I get a million compliments when I wear my hair this way. Enjoy:)

Brazilian Smoothing Treatment

I am introducing a new service to my business called the Brazilian Smoothing Treatment. I am VERY excited to be offering this service to my clients! The results are fantastic! I have been doing a few test runs on some of my clients with curly hair and they have loved it. The Keratin Express products smooths your hair with out chemicals and gives your hair a boost of protein, improving your hairs current condition. It leaves your hair shiny and smooth. For people without curly hair it illuminates frizz and cuts down/out flat ironing time. It last 4-6 weeks. For more info call me (435)881-0167 or check out the Keratin Express website.http://keratin-express.com/
I am offering everyone a half off their first treatment! Trust me you will LOVE it!

No-poo!

Ha Ha I accidentally posted this to my home blog and not this one. So if you check out both then you can only check one. It is the same thing :) I have been wondering about this whole "no-poo" thing since I heard about it a couple of months ago. I was wondering if any of my readers had actually tried it or know someone personally that has tried it. I think I am going to try it. I also think it will take a little while to get some of the products but I'll keep you updated :) http://www.oneshetwoshe.com/2010/07/no-poo-your-hair-she-kate-p.html

Tell your friends and you get $10 off your next service too. Thanks everyone for supporting me. It means the world to me and my little family. I love my clients!

Before and After!

I love doing big changes on people! I think it makes me feel like I am creating something new, not just freshening up or adding shape back to the same style. I have a few posts to catch up on this subject.

Here is Amber, she has gorgeous red hair. (I asked her to send me a before pic because I forgot to take one.) We have added color to her hair before but it has grown and washed out. She is afraid of damage and permanent maintenance so we just added some semi-permanent rich auburns to her hair. I love how it turned out!

Before

After

Jamie here is getting ready to have a baby. Months again she asked me to cut 4 inches off. I did and so I was surprised to hear she wanted another 4-5 inches off when she came back in for a root touch-up. This first pic is after the first 4 inches.
